Iran short doc harvests US top award

Directed by Kiumars Sarshar Iran short documentary 'Native' has received US Independent Shorts Awards for Best Short Documentary in February 2019.

‘Native’ is a 15-minute documentary about an old man whose children are after a job to immigrate to the city. The old man has to work in a salt mine and sell the salt with much difficulty.

The flick won the golden award for the Independent Shorts Awards monthly competition. The doc is a candidate for receiving the Independent Shorts annual awards too.

Independent Shorts Awards (ISA) is an international film festival, with monthly live screenings in Burbank, California, and an annual live screening and awards event in North Hollywood, California. The monthly winners are automatically qualified to compete and be screened at ISA annual event.
